6. Rev Limit Detector (1993)

Hardware: Microchip PIC microcontroller

Software: Microchip PIC MASM macro assembly language

This was an offshoot of the motorcycle dash project. At this time motorcycles still only had mechanical speedos and tachos, and rev limiters were only just beginning to appear on new bikes. I decided to design and build one that I might be able to sell. From the outset I decided to make it as small as possible, to fit on the sparse dash. It had a sub-miniature rotary switch to select the rev limit, a very bright 10mm LED, a relay, and a PIC microcontroller.
